Frequently Asked Questions
I do not see the moon rise/set times? What could be wrong?
The moon and sun rise/set times require your location to be calculated correctly. The app will continue to function without your location, but the rise/set times will not be displayed. Here are some of the reasons that your location may be unavailable:
- The moon rise/set times can be toggled on/off by tapping the moon on the Phase screen. Try tapping the moon to ensure you are not in the "off" mode.
- If you answered "No" when the device asked you whether the app could use your present location. This setting can be changed via the Settings->General->Location Services menu on your device.
- If you are using a device that requires a WiFi connection to determine your location, such as an iPod touch or iPad (without 3G), then you need to be connected to a WiFi in order to determine your location. Depending on your Internet Service Provider, your location may still be unavailable even when connected via WiFi.
How do I read the rise/set times?
The Sun and Moon rise and set times are displayed on a 24-hour clock (showing times in your local timezone). The orange arc across the clock face represents the time during which the sun is visible. The green arc across the clock face represents the time during which the moon is visible. Note that if the moon's arc begins before midnight, but ends after midnight, then the set time is actually the following day.
